Transport Guidelines for caretakers & guests

To ensure smooth transportation arrangements and your safety while traveling to and from our place, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Personal Transportation:

    • Caretakers & guests are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from our property.
    • Please ensure your vehicle is in good working condition and has adequate fuel for the journey.
    • If needed, you can arrange a pick-up from the airport or your hostel with another guest (if someone is available). However, please note that this is a privately organized transport and the property owner will not be liable for any incidents. Fuel compensation may be requested by the driver.

Pick Up Estimated Uber Costs: From Coolalinga $50, Palmerston $60, or Darwin airport $90
We recommend to contact an uber.

  2. Parking:

    • Park your vehicle in the designated parking area upon arrival at our property. Avoid parking on firebreaks, main roads, or blocking access to essential areas.

  3. Carpooling:

    • Consider carpooling with fellow guests if feasible. This not only reduces the number of vehicles on-site but also promotes camaraderie among guests.

  4. Transporting Supplies:

    • If transporting supplies or equipment to our property, ensure they are properly secured in your vehicle to prevent damage or accidents during transit.

  5. Emergency Contact Information:

    • Carry a list of emergency contact numbers, including the caretakers, property owner and local emergency services, in case of unforeseen circumstances during your journey.

  6. Adherence to Traffic Laws:

    • Observe all traffic laws and regulations while driving to and from our property. Drive safely and defensively at all times.

  7. Weather Considerations:

    • Be prepared for changing weather conditions, especially during the wet season in the Northern Territory. Ensure your vehicle is equipped with appropriate tires and emergency supplies if traveling in adverse weather.

  8. Communication:

    • Inform the caretaker coordinator or designated contact person in advance if you encounter any transportation issues or delays that may affect your arrival time.

  9. Return Trip:

    • Upon completion of your volunteering activities, ensure you have transportation arranged for your return journey. Coordinate with fellow guests or arrange for a ride-sharing service if needed. Be aware you need to pay your fuel cost contribution to the person who is driving you!

By following these transport guidelines, we can ensure the safety and efficiency of our property operations. Your cooperation and commitment to responsible transportation practices are greatly appreciated.
